Q: When did you first join R4R and how did you learn about us?
A: 2019. I first joined R4R in August 2019 after attending the Q3 Community Gathering July 27, 2019 with my friend Amy Labowitch, but I heard about R4R long before July 2019. Besides Amy telling me about R4R over the years, I also heard about this group from Mackenzie Wieser. Mackenzie let me know that my Vitalant platelet donations can benefit R4R, and then I met Randy the Monday before the Q3 event at Vitalant during a donation. It was fate!
Q: Describe yourself in 25 words or less.
A: I am a wife, mom of four, and a friend to many. I love deeply, care whole-heartedly, and appreciate honesty.
Q: What’s your favorite “Movin’ into Life” activity?
A: I’m a walker! I love getting out with my various groups, Saturday mornings at Panera, Monday nights at Dreaming Dog, and Wednesday morning with the Early Risers. The one common denominator with these groups is Amy!
Q: How do you like to spend your free time? Any hobbies of note?
A: I love crafting and baking and sharing both with family and friends.
Q: What’s something most people don’t know about you?
A: I’ve ridden in a hot air balloon.
Q: What has been your most unusual or interesting job?
A: I worked several temporary jobs the summer I graduated from high school, but the most fun was working the Ventura County Fair. I was able to take my breaks and go watch the various concerts, including Jefferson Starship and Hank Williams, Jr. I will let you guess the year.
Q: What has been your proudest moment since being a part of the R4R family?
A: I think my proudest moment being a part of the R4R family is sharing Rhett’s message anytime I am asked.
Q: How would you describe your Runnin’ for Rhett experience to a child?
A: I would describe my R4R experience to a child by letting them know, “All you need to know is that moving is good for you. It does not matter how far or how fast you go and there is no judgment. If I can do it, so can you.”
