Q: What interested you most in joining the Runnin’ for Rhett team as the Adult Fitness Program Director?
A: Being a part of a team that encourages others to participate in activities to enhance their way of life through nutrition, fitness, and FUN!
Q: What excites you the most about taking on this new role?
A: The opportunity to introduce this amazing organization to others in the community, partner with like-minded groups, and get even more people moving into life!
Q: How did you learn about Runnin’ for Rhett?
A: Through Deschutes Brewery back in 2015 when the two organizations worked together on Street Pub for three years in a row. I was the Social Media Manager with the brewery and was emotionally moved when I heard Beth and Randy speak to our group about Rhett. Over the years, I’ve kept in contact online and when I moved to Sacramento last fall, I joined up as a member and did some social media at a few fundraising events.
Q: Describe yourself in 25 words or less.
A: I am reliable, hard-working, trust-worthy, respectful of others, and an advocate for my community. I love to plan activities and adventures for those looking for a FUN experience.
Q: What’s your very favorite “Movin’ into Life” activity?
A: I love being active outdoors and my top 4 favorite activities are cycling, hiking, running, and chillin’ on my paddleboard.
Q: How do you like to spend your free time? Any hobbies of note?
A: My husband and I have a travel trailer, and we’ve driven across the country four times in the past four years on various adventures. We tend to visit places that have great biking and hiking trails with plenty of local spots to get craft beer, wine, and coffee.
Q: What has been your most unusual or interesting job?
A: Through Deschutes Brewery I was able to travel to a new city and state almost every month for many years while the brewery was expanding its distribution and hosting events to spread the word. I was able to visit places I’d never been before and met all kinds of amazing people who are still my friends to this day. Now when I travel, I know someone in most places across the country and get the “local’s” tour when visiting. The brewery also transferred me to Roanoke, VA when they had plans to expand out that way, so I was able to experience living on the east coast for four years and am so grateful for my time there.
Q: If you were a vegetable, what would you be and why?
A: Gosh, I know it is technically a fruit, but I choose a CUCUMBER! It’s cool, crisp, and refreshing, and wears many different hats, like me. It can be a pickle (yum, I love pickles), a “chip” for dipping, sight for sore eyes (literally), and will add a hint of flavor to your plain tap water. I have FOMO (fear of missing out) for sure and want to do #allofthethings, just like a cucumber (hehe!).
Q: What is one thing that you’d like share with our adult fitness community to help them get to know you?
A: If you tie any fitness activity to food or a drink after (or during), IM IN!
