Monica Mojica – May 2025

Q: When did you first join R4R, and how did you learn about us?
A: I moved back to Sacramento in November 2024. My daughter suggested joining Meetup to meet new people. I kept seeing the blue t-shirts and joined in February 2025.

Q: As a mom of grown children, why is it important to you to stay active?
A: I want to lead as a good example. I have been exercising since I was 11 years old. My son is 26, in the Air Force Reserves, also works in HR, and my daughter is 35, and has a career in finance. I introduced physical education to my children at an early age. I enjoy exercising with them when I can.

Q: Describe yourself in 25 words or fewer.
A: I am humble. I am hungry for knowledge. I try to be the hardest worker in the room.

Q: If you were a vegetable, what would you be and why?
A: Spirulina. Fun fact: It’s a nutrient-dense sea vegetable! It has anti-cancer properties, is good for your heart, is a natural anti-inflammatory, is packed with protein, with great immune support. I have been taking it for years.

Q: How would you describe your Runnin’ for Rhett experience to a child?
A: A fun way to move with friends, outside of PE class.

Q: What has been your most unusual or interesting job?
A: I helped build the Cath Lab at a hospital. It was hard and very rewarding.

Q: What’s something most people don’t know about you?
A: I love to draw.

Q: What has been your proudest moment since being a part of the R4R family?
A: Tackling the stair monster, I mean stair master!
