Q: When did you first join R4R and how did you learn about us?
A: I believe it was in 2019 because it was pre-pandemic. I was looking for a running group that was a little more mixed skill levels and found you online.
Q: Describe yourself in 25 words or less.
A: Midwest boy who moved to Sacramento 15 years ago to become a husband and stepfather. I also program computers to make money.
Q: What has been your most unusual or interesting job?
A: I’ve been in some paid dance performances. Those were pretty cool for someone who spends most of their time at a desk.
Q: How do you like to spend your free time? Any hobbies of note?
A: Besides running? (smirk) I have always loved reading, movies, and music. I also (a handful of times during the year) volunteer for pyrotechnical crews with my wife and oldest child.
Q: What’s something most people don’t know about you?
A: I’m adopted and have been in contact with 2 aunts on my biological father’s side.
Q: What has been your proudest moment since being a part of the R4R family?
A: I didn’t realize it at the time but on that rainy day of the MaraFUNrun 5K 2022 I placed first in my gender/age category.
Q: If you were a vegetable, what would you be and why?
A: At this point in my life, I feel like a stick of celery that’s been placed in water in an attempt to regain some crispness. By the way, this is the question I had to think most about. 🙂
Q: How would you describe your Runnin’ for Rhett experience to a child?
A: I was looking for a running group that also helped out some who needed it. I was happy to find that they were also of many different skill levels and kind as well.
